Thank you to everyone for the kind words, prayers, and gifts honoring Reagan’s death. It is a hard time for me and my family. Reagan was a joy and a gift to us. She was the center of our world and each day we recognize the gratitude of having her in our life and the immense grief of no longer having her in our life.
Please know that we feel everyone’s love and support and we take it with us as we navigate our new normal. Losing a child is a profound tragedy. As we work through our grief, we take solace in the beautiful messages from her service.
Pastor Edwin compared Reagan’s life to the burning bush. A metaphor for a moment in time that leads to so much more. He challenged us to pause long enough to see the miracle of Reagan’s life and make the world a better place in her memory.
Rabbi Miller reminded us it is our responsibility to take Reagan’s life on our own and make sure she lives in mortality through our words and our actions. He urged us to act more like she did and to take one characteristic or personal quality and commit to making it a part of our lives.
I will never be as kindhearted and unconditionally loving of all as Reagan was. It is hard to be that pure. I believe God sends us angels as messengers. Reagan truly was an angel and her message to us was to be better, kinder, and more loving. I will take those characteristics and commit to making them central in my life.
